What A Fantastic Victory for the English in Australia !!

Expectations were high after a brilliant batting display at the Gabba as Alastair Cook, Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott all got big centuries. Andrew Strauss made a quick 110, then Cook and Trott broke the record partnership at this stadium which was held previously by Mike Hussey and Brad Haddin. They had scored their runs about a day earlier. Cook managed to get 232 not out and Trott achieved 132 not out. England declared on 517-1 and had about half a day to get the Australians out. They got five of the Aussie's out which made them nervous for the rest of the series and with good reason. Another stand out performer in that match was Steven Finn who got 6 wickets in the first innings and a couple in the second.

England arrived in Adelaide with a feeling of superiority over this bad Australian side. These emotions turned out to be true as they bowled the Aussies out on the first day for a mere 245 on a flat pitch. England were in a commanding position and needed a good score with the bat. The start was very poor as Strauss got out for one run but England did not look back. The English got a whole lot of good scores: Trott with 78, Cook with 148, Kevin Peiterson with 227, Collingwood with 42, Bell with 69 and Prior with 27. England decided to declare on 620-5 which happened to be the biggest score England have made since 1938. The Australians frustrated the English and would have ended the day well if it wasn't for K.P as he got Michael Clarke out on 80. The following day Hussey secured his half-century but soon after this was out at the hands of Finn. Then it was James Anderson who got two wickets in two deliveries. Swann with a class of brilliance swept the tail aside and ensued his five wicket haul. There were so many positives to draw from this result for England and negatives for Australia who were so desperate that they wanted Shane Warne to make a shock comeback. Warne has not ruled himself out of contention and that is the only possible hope that the Aussies have to draw from.

ENGLAND ARE 1 UP AND WILL WIN IN AUSTRALIA COMFORTABLY!!

Arsenal Are Going to Win the Carling Cup!

Arsenal came through the relatively easy challenge of dispatching Wigan Athletic out of the Carling Cup. The two sides met in the quarter finals of this competition and a victory for either side would ensure a semi-final place. The Gunners were dominating but failed to take the lead until delightful play from the mid fielders which ended up in cross and the Wigan Captain, Alcaraz, scored an own goal. The timing of the goal could not have been better as it was the 48th minute. Arsenal went into the break with a one nil lead and as everybody knows Arsenal's defence is not exactly brilliant.
Arsenal came out creating chances but missed all of them. It seemed that it was not going to Arsenal's day when Nasri hit the post but in the 67th minute magnificent play by the winger, Walcott  lead to a chance that was dispatched by Nickolas Bentdner. Walcott spurred a few chances later on but the outcome was always apparent. The Gunners had breezed through to the semis and to add the icing on the cake, Manchester United lost to the bottom side, West Ham. United didn't just loose but were humiliated in a 4-0 defeat in the snowy conditions. West Ham were disallowed a goal amidst some controversy but they just got better and better. The opener was scored by a young ex-Manchester United player called Spector. It was a delightful cross with a fantastic header on the end of it. Then poor defending led to his second and they went into the break with a two goal advantage over the holding champions. You would expect Manchester United to get back into it or to but up a fight back. The opposite occurred and Charlton Cole scored a brace to ensure that West ham would go through to the next round. This result would go down in the Hammer's  folk law. The holders had lost their first match for 28 matches resulting in even more of a disappointment!

Why England are going to win the Ashes in Australia

To win in Australia the most prestigious test series in the world you firstly have to have confidence and an element of arrogance. England possess this since their historic T20 win in the Caribbean and they have not looked back since. They have won all the series since then in all forms of the game and have done it in style. Although the Pakistanis ruined our summer we will still win and firmly believe in the victory. A few years ago most England innings would collapse but since Eoin Morgan has come into the side, collapses have been avoided. I think he should be included and given a permanent role in the English test team. Andrew Strauss has hit top form in the one day internationals and is an intelligent captain. Paul Collingwood and Ian Bell  are both very experienced and could provide support in tricky situations. Even though Kevin Pietersen has been in bad form this summer but when he is on fire nobody can stop him as he rises and is the best player in the world.
Now to our bowlers, James Andersen provides leadership in the fast bowlers pack and reverse swing is a brilliant asset to have going to Australia. Stuart Broad and Finn are young but are also aggressive and hit the deck hard which is vital for a win. The ace in the pack in our bowling attack is Graham Swann. He has turned the ball magnificently and taken wickets for fun and has become the best bowler in the world.
All of these players must perform to get a result in Australia and I am confident that they will deliver not like the previous Ashes campaign in Australia. It ended in  a white wash maybe we can turn it around and give the Aussies a bit of their own medicine.

Why Arsenal Are Going To Win The Quadruple?

After Arsenal's brilliant win against Spurs, I saw a team that had hunger for victory and total commitment on the pitch. I am sure that Arsene Wenger's future generation of stars have matured and have gained enough experience to challenge not only for the premier league title but also for a European crown.
As Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Spurs and Everton all got knocked out of the Carling Cup in the first round, Arsenal have their best opportunity in years to win silver wear. Arsenal's strength in depth is unrivalled and players like Ramsey,Wilshere, Lansbury, Vel a,and Gibbs are great support for the first team who need breaks from Europe and the League. This is our year, THIS is our chance! The stars like Fabregas, Arshavin, Chamhk, Nasri, Rosicky, Van Persie, Walcott, Vermaelen , Clichy, Sagna and Song are could enough to achieve these feet. Arsenal's style will not prove enough on its own but their resilience is unquestionable. The European Referees suit the style that arsenal play protect them from BROKEN LEGS!
